What is a Miller & Carter onion loaf?

A small loaf-shaped block of onion in batter, deep fried until crisp, served on the side of every Miller & Carter steak with the lettuce wedge and a balsamic-glazed tomato.

Miller & Carter lists it among the parts of its steak plate: "Our steaks are served with parsley butter or our signature butter, balsamic-glazed tomato, onion loaf, your choice of steak sauce, lettuce wedge dressing and side." The menu gives it no description of its own.

It also comes with the kids' 30 day aged rump steak 4.5oz on the Young Guest menu, which is "served with onion loaf and tomato". See every cut on the Miller & Carter steak menu.

No. Miller & Carter has not published it. The recipes online are copycats written by food bloggers, and the two at the top of Google UK on 17 Oct 2026 both use ingredients the restaurant version does not contain.
