Coeliacs

Is Miller & Carter safe for coeliacs?

Miller & Carter designs its gluten-free menu for coeliac guests and says dishes on it contain no more than 20 parts per million of gluten.

In its words: "Processes and training are in place to ensure that meals on our gluten free menus are gluten free and therefore contain gluten at a level of no more than 20 parts per million (ppm)." The menu pages credit the accreditation to "the Coeliac Society" and the FAQ to Coeliac UK, the UK's coeliac charity.

Order from the gluten-free menu itself rather than picking dishes from the main menu: some dishes, such as the baked cheddar mushrooms, are made differently for the gluten-free menu.

Tell your server about any allergy when you book and when you order. The brand says recipes change, and asks guests to check the allergen guide in the restaurant on the day.

Where is the Miller & Carter allergen menu?

There is no separate allergen PDF. Each dish on the online menus has an "Allergen & Nutrition" pop-up with an allergen filter, and every restaurant keeps an allergen guide on site.

The online menus list the 14 major allergens per dish, including "may contain" warnings. Our Miller & Carter calories page has the full nutrition for each dish. Vegetarian (V) and vegan (VE) markers mean made with vegetarian or vegan ingredients, and the brand notes that preparation and cooking could affect this.

What is not gluten-free at Miller & Carter?

On the main menu, the burgers, cheesy garlic bread, salt and pepper calamari, sticky chipotle chicken, fish pie and the spicy burnt chilli wedge dressing are not on the gluten-free menu.
